Quarterback CJ Stroud has been one of the brightest young quarterbacks this season for the Houston Texans but was injured last week in the 30-6 road loss against the New York Jets. He was diagnosed with a concussion and left in the second half of the game and has been placed in concussion protocol. However, his official status for Week 15 against the Tennessee Titans has officially been announced.
According to multiple reports, CJ Stroud is going to miss this Week 15 matchup against the Titans as he has not been able to officially clear concussion protocol. In his place, veteran backup quarterback Case Keenum will be getting the start. CJ Stroud has been the leading player in the Offensive Rookie of the Year betting odds as he is 275-of-441 (62.4 completion percentage) for 3,631 yards with 20 passing touchdowns to five interceptions as well as 35 rushing attempts for 143 yards (4.1 yards per carry) with three rushing touchdowns.
This is going to be a difficult time for the Houston Texans as they are currently entering Sunday as the eighth seed in the AFC so they would be outside of the playoffs with four weeks remaining.
Can the Houston Texans win this game without CJ Stroud?
CJ Stroud has been one of the best quarterbacks in all of football and losing him for this game will be a massive issue. However, the Houston Texans going up against the Tennessee Titans for the first time this season. The Titans are currently a 3.5-point home favorite in this game and have a 5-8 record.
This game is going to be interesting as the Titans were able to pick up a massive come-from-behind victory on Monday night against the Miami Dolphins. Houston is still competing for the AFC South and the Wild Card as well but CJ Stroud is far from the only key injury.
The offense is going to be tough as both wide receivers Nico Collins and Tank Dell are not going to be playing in this game as well. This game is going to be close, as the betting spread indicates, but expect the Tennessee Titans to be able to control the game with the better offense that is available for this game.
