Over the past several seasons, the Cincinnati Bengals have been bitter rivals with the Kansas City Chiefs. That all started when Cincinnati defeated Kansas City in the 2022 AFC Championship game to enter the Super Bowl. After that, Cincinnati would go on to lose to Kansas City again the following season in the AFC Championship game. If it weren’t for some critical injuries last season, that rematch would likely have played out a third time between these two giants.
Cincinnati Bengals Quarterback to Go On Rival’s Podcast
Without a doubt, the competition between these two times stems from the elite quarterback play. Kansas City has future hall-of-fame quarterback Patrick Mahomes at the helm while Cincinnati has been led by the daring leadership skills of quarterback Joe Burrow. If it hadn’t been for Burrow suffering through another season-ending injury last season, Cincinnati would almost definitely have met Kansas City in the AFC Title Game.
Even though these two teams have been ardent rivals, there is a tremendous level of respect between these teams. That respect was on full display when Burrow made the interesting decision to be a guest on the New Heights podcast with Travis Kelce and Jason Kelce. Since Travis began dating international superstar Taylor Swift, the podcast has been one of the most successful mediums on the market which has allowed the show to draw some superb guests.
Some interesting talking points could come up during this interview that range from Burrow’s recovery after tearing a ligament in his wrist last season to Travis’ relationship with Swift. On top of that, Burrow holds a 3-1 record over the Chiefs which provides some interesting trash talk that may be spoken between these two titans.
It will be interesting to see if Jason falls into the role of mediator as his brother has been known to be somewhat immature with the competition. During the Super Bowl last season, Travis nearly threw head coach Andy Reid to the ground for taking him out of the game on a routine first-and-goal situation in short yardage. At this point in his career, Travis simply isn’t much of a run blocker after all.
Regardless of what team you are a fan of, this is going to be a bizarre interview with so much tension that you could cut it with a knife.
