Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins wants to secure a big bag in the offseason under his own terms. However, that’s not where it’s trending at the moment, as the Bengals are opting to franchise tag him for the 2024 season for $21.816 million.
There is still plenty of time for him to think about that deal and decide on whether to sign it or hold out. He did not have time, though, to join his teammates, quarterback Joe Burrow and wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase, watch the Los Angeles Lakers and the Phoenix Suns play on Sunday. Many social media users have taken note of Higgins’ absence.

“WOOOOWWW DOV WTF😂😂😂😂😂 first of all sam hubbard and dj reader were also there, right next to joe Second, WHERE IS TEE??? maybe living his offseason life?,” said X user @DerGermanTiger.
Of course, Higgins is living his own life too and probably was just busy doing and enjoying the offseason somewhere else. His not being with Burrow and Chase doesn’t mean he’s already trying to distance himself from the Cincinnati Bengals.
“I didn’t know they had to be attached at the hip all offseason,” posted @FloridaHoosier5.
“Chase and Burrow went to college together I’d imagine they have a stronger connection than Tee Higgins and either of them,” chimed in @hood_pope1300.
Here’s from @crypthustle: “Bro this a crazy reach 😂 has & Burrow are friends on a deeper level than just teammates. They went to college together too. Cmon”
Higgins and the Cincinnati Bengals can still work out a new deal, potentially a long-term one, which the wideout naturally would love more than being franchise-tagged.
Higgins, selected by the Cincinnati Bengals in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft, played in 12 games in the 2023 campaign and came up with 656 receiving yards and five touchdowns on 42 catches and 76 targets.
