Darnell Mooney is excited about where the Chicago Bears are going. Even though they finished with the worst record last season, there were a ton of bright spots. Justin Fields had flashes of brilliance and young players showed some promise. The team turned that top pick into a slew of other picks plus wide receiver DJ Moore. Tremaine Edmunds came over in free agency to shore up the defense and things are looking up. Mooney is excited and has a message for Bears fans.

Chicago Bears Darnell Mooney Has A Message For The Fans

His message is simple. Get ready for some victories in 2023.

“Get ready to win. Tired of losing. Don’t go for any hypeness or anything like that. Just get ready to win.”

Mooney, along with many Bears fans, is tired of losing. Here and there the Bears have put together winning seasons but overall, the last 30 years has been marred with disappointment. What makes it sting even more is the hated rival Green Bay Packers have spent the last 30 dominating the division. Mooney is ready to turn things around.

    Expectations For 2023

Are the changes enough to compete in 2023? The division is more wide open than it has ever been. There are a couple of things this season hinges on. Justin Fields is the obvious one. He needs to take a step forward in the passing game. If he can, this team should improve drastically. The defense also has to improve. They had a tough time stopping anyone and outside of Edmunds, didn’t make any drastic changes to the unit. If players step up and have better years, the Bears could find them in the mix for a wild card position.

What is more likely for Darnell Mooney and the Chicago Bears is that they are a year away. This year can be a year of development and hopefully, they have built the foundation to be ready to compete in the long term.
