The Chargers Desperately Needed Keenan Allen
Coming into this week’s game, the Chargers hold a 4-7 record and are quickly fading in the AFC playoff race. If they are going to have any shot at turning things around, it must start this week. With Allen being the best player on offense outside of Justin Herbert, it was an absolute necessity to have him on the field.
Going up against the Patriots should give the Chargers and their fans good hope for a win. New England has been awful this season and are just 2-9 coming into this week’s matchup. The season has been so bad that there is major speculation that the team could part ways with legendary head coach Bill Belichick after the season.
So far this season in 11 games for the Chargers, Keenan Allen has racked up 97 receptions for 1,117 yards and seven touchdowns. Those numbers show just how much of an impact he makes on the offense.
At this point, it seems likely that the Chargers are headed for some offseason changes. Head coach Brandon Staley has been on the hot seat all season long and how things have gone has not made his future look better. Herbert has even come under fire for not being able to power his team to the playoffs.
Hopefully, this week will get the season turned around for Los Angeles. Getting Keenan Allen back is a big step in the right direction, but they need to put things together on the field.
Make sure to tune in at 1:00 p.m. EST on CBS to see if the Chargers can pull off a big win over the Patriots.
