The Baltimore Ravens could use some help at wide receiver with Odell Beckham, Jr. and Devin Duvernay leaving this off-season.
As a result of those losses, the Ravens have already hosted visits with multiple wide receivers like Michael Gallup and Josh Reynolds; Reynolds recently signed a two-year contract with the Denver Broncos.
Ravens, Chris Godwin a Good Fit
Another key name who could be on the move this off-season is Chris Godwin. CBS’s Cody Benjamin thinks the Ravens are a fit for Godwin.
The Buccaneers have operated like a team focused entirely on the present, retaining Baker Mayfield, Mike Evans, Lavonte David and Antoine Winfield Jr. in a classic “run-it-back” offseason. In that case, they may prefer Godwin to stick as a reliable, if unspectacular, starter. But he’s entering the final year of an expensive deal, due a whopping $27.5 million in 2024, and Evans is commanding top dollar on his own new deal. Maybe they’d be open to replacing his role via the draft.
Potential suitors: Cardinals, Patriots, Ravens
Chris Godwin was selected by the Buccaneers in the third round (84th pick) of the 2017 NFL draft, he has a Super Bowl ring with Tampa Bay in 2021, he made the second-team AP All-Pro in 2019, and also the Pro Bowl. Godwin has 529 catches, 6,690 yards, and 34 Receiving Touchdowns thus far in his NFL career.
Godwin has a huge cap hit, but he’s a perfect fit for Baltimore if they can make the cap work, he’d fit right in with two-time MVP, Lamar Jackson, throwing him the ball.
