The Boston College Eagles football team, on Bill O’Brien’s decision as the team’s Head Coach, has announced the hiring of Doug Marrone, former NFL head coach of Buffalo Bills and Jacksonville Jaguars, as a senior analyst for football strategy and research.
NFL Veteran Doug Marrone to Work with Bill O’Brien for the Boston College Eagles
The veteran NFL head coach is expected to join Bill O’Brien, current head coach of the Boston College Eagles, and former head coach of Houston Texans. They already worked together at Georgia Tech, Marrone as tight ends and offensive line coach, while O’Brien was a graduate assistant and later running backs coach. More recently, they collaborated on the Alabama Crimson Tide staff; O’Brien was the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach while Marrone was the offensive line coach.

It is clear that there is a long history of partnership between Doug Marrone and Bill O’Brien as their paths crossed multiple times as both former NFL head coaches. And, once again, they will work together on a college football team. The Boston College Eagles 2024 season will be interesting with the addition of these two football veterans.
