The Carolina Panthers had one of the worst offensive lines in the league, allowing the 11th-most hits, the 6th-most pressures, the 8th-highest pressure percentage, the 2nd-most sacks, and the 10th-lowest pass block win rate in 2023.
The Panthers overhauled their offensive line by releasing Bradley Bozeman and signing two guards with over 50 career starts.
The Carolina Panthers signed a guard from the NFC West
The Panthers signed Damien Lewis to a 4-year, $53 million contract. Lewis will be in his fifth year, playing 61 games, starting 61. He will be their starting LG.
The Carolina Panthers signed a guard from the AFC East
The Panthers signed Robert Hunt to a 5-year, $100 million contract. Hunt will be in his fifth year, playing 61 games, starting 55. He will be their starting RG.
The Panthers appear to have their starting five set for the 2024 season. Their projected starters are LT Ikem Ekwonu, LG Damien Lewis, C Austin Corbett, RG Robert Hunt, and RT Taylor Moton.
Their assistant head coach/run game coordinator expressed confidence in their starting offensive line.

Harold Goodwin is the Panthers’ assistant head coach/run game coordinator. He believes that they have five Pro Bowl-level players.
“I’m excited for the group,” Goodwin stated. “Obviously, we’ve got five guys that can play at a high level. The biggest thing, knock on wood, we just gotta stay healthy. All those guys are capable of being high-quality players, Pro Bowl-level players—not to put any pressure on any of ’em. But I expect big things from that group to help this team out.
“I believe any offensive line on any football team is the foundation of the team. I feel like we got a good start to a good foundation of a future.”
Harold Goodwin has confidence in their new starting center
Goodwin is confident that Corbett can transition from right guard to center.
“Well, I don’t consider it a big leap. It’s something he’s done way in his past,” he replied. “But he’s a football player. Football players can do many different things. He’s smart, he’s athletic, he’s capable of doing anything we ask of him. So far since I’ve been here, we’ve talked about in my office. He feels comfortable with it. And obviously, it starts with him.
“And we feel confident as coaches, as an organization that he can lead us in the right direction. And he’s gonna have two big guard next to him. So all he’s gotta do is lead the way and we should be fine.”
Corbett has yet to record a regular-season snap at center in his six-year career but played in 203 preseason snaps in his rookie season with the Browns.
