The Carolina Panthers had another disappointing season in the NFC South with a 2-15 record. Despite allowing the 4th-most points, Carolina’s defense put up decent numbers. They ranked 4th in total yards, 3rd in passing, and 23rd in rushing.
Carolina is hoping to extend one of their best defensive players.
The Carolina Panthers are working on an extension for their leading tackler.
According to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN, Carolina is working on an extension for linebacker Frankie Luvu.
“The Carolina Panthers are expected to try to re-sign do-it-all linebacker Frankie Luvu. Both sides discussed a potential deal last summer and didn’t agree, but those talks could heat up around the combine.”

Luvu received a glowing review from their defensive coordinator.
Defensive coordinator Ejiro Evero praised Luvu for his efforts during the 2023 season.
“He does it all,” Evero said. “We’re asking him to be a linebacker: off-the-ball linebacker, we’ve asked him to be an edge rusher, we’ve asked him to be a part of our pressure package. He wears so many hats, and now he’s got the green dot. And I can’t say enough good things about this player.
“He epitomizes everything you want in a football player. He’s tough, he’s smart, he plays with great effort, he plays with great physicality, he’s a great teammate. And he’s had a number of games this year where you can say, ‘Wow.’ And it’s great to see him get rewarded for it.”
Will he be with the team next year?
Frankie Luvu will be an unrestricted free agent during the offseason and is expected to earn around $12 million annually.
Will the Carolina Panthers pay their leading tackler, or will he test the free-agent market?
