The Carolina Panthers had a miserable 2023 NFL season. Finishing with a record of just 2-15, they are looking to build from the ground up. After hiring Dave Canales as their head coach from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the Panthers appear to be hiring yet another coach from that staff.
Carolina Panthers Hire Brad Idzik as OC
According to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN, the Carolina Panthers are set to hire Brad Idzik as their offensive coordinator. Idzik is just 32 years old and was the Buccaneers’ WR coach last season. Now, he appears to be getting a promotion from his division rival.
Mike Evans’ Turnaround
The Panthers likely noticed the turnaround that Buccaneers WR Mike Evans had this season. After not having the best 2022 NFL season, Evans improved his numbers considerably in 2023. For starters, he went from six touchdown receptions to 13 touchdown receptions. Also, he went from 1,124 receiving yards to 1,255 receiving yards.
Joining Dave Canales
Idzik is set to join Canales on the Panthers’ coaching staff. Both will receive promotions from their division rival. Now, it appears that multiple members of the Buccaneers’ coaching staff are going to move to Carolina to help build that team back up.
