Whether he likes it or not, Cam Newton is at the center of another controversy after getting involved in a fight with multiple people at a 7-on-7 football tournament in Georgia last week.
The incident quickly spread like wildfire the moment footage of the fight emerged on social media. People were quick to give their two cents on the matter, and the police also got involved in the issue.
While the former Carolina Panthers QB is still waiting for the final results of the investigation, he’s come forward to try and defuse the situation by apologizing to all of the parties involved for his disappointing behavior.

The Spun’s Tzvi Machlin wrote about Cam Newton’s official statement after the debacle he was involved in.
He apologized to everyone who had to witness his embarrassing display, saying that it wasn’t behavior that fits a role model:
“To every single high school player, to every single person I’ve influenced, to every single athlete—use my situation as a way to understand, that in one moment and one decision, your life can change. Just like that,” Newton said. “And I let my emotions get the best of me, and it should not have been called for. Simple.
“And with that, I apologize to anybody affected—that’s Steph, that’s TJ, that’s their organization, that’s C1N, my organization, that’s my players, my parents, my staff members.
“I can’t sit up there and say, ‘hey, bro, you gotta be bigger than that’ and then all of a sudden I do that — and that just goes to show you you’ve got to always stay in control of your emotions,” Newton said.
This isn’t the first time Cam Newton has found himself embroiled in controversy, but this incident would have likely killed off any chances of him making it back to the league.
While there’s no clear indication on whether there would be lawsuits filed towards any of the involved parties, it doesn’t give Newton a great look from the larger football community.
