The Buffalo Bills will be without one of their newest offensive weapons, wide receiver Amari Cooper, as they face the Miami Dolphins this Sunday. Limited throughout the week in practice, Cooper has been ruled out due to a wrist injury he suffered in last week’s game against the Seattle Seahawks. Bills head coach Sean McDermott echoed sentiments about Cooper’s recovery, but said regardless, sitting him was in the receiver’s best interest, and in the words of McDermott, “He’s a pro. He’s working through it.”

Who Will Josh Allen Look to After Amari Cooper’s Inactive
It is the first game Cooper has sat out since being traded from the Cleveland Browns to the Buffalo Bills earlier this season. In the past two games, Amari Cooper has been a solid addition to the Bills’ passing game, piling up yardage and making key plays. In his absence, quarterback Josh Allen will likely look to wide receiver Keon Coleman and Curtis Samuel more. Recovering from a pectoral strain, Samuel will return to the lineup this week, providing a needed boost to the receiving corps. The Bills have also brought up Jalen Virgil from their practice squad to add some depth.
Amari Cooper’s timing is bad for the Bills, who are fighting to hold on to a spot in the AFC East, with a victory over the Dolphins. The Cooper absence is now significant simply for Miami to be one of the toughest matchups within the division. That’s adding insult to injury as Bills starting cornerback Christian Benford will be sidelined with a similar wrist injury. But Benford’s replacement, first-round pick in 2022 Kaiir Elam, has a massive matchup against a Miami offense full of dynamic players.
The Bills will be hoping Cooper makes a quick recovery and can contribute to their offense as they press through the rest of the season. The team will now have to do without one of their top playmakers as they face their division rivals.
