The Buffalo Bills overhauled the wide receiver position during the offseason. The Bills parted ways with four of their top five receivers (Stefon Diggs, Gabe Davis, Trent Sherfield, and Deonte Harty). They replaced those players with Curtis Samuel, Keon Coleman, Marquez Valdes-Scantling, Mack Hollins, and Chase Claypool.
Unfortunately, one of their free-agent acquisitions suffered a significant injury.
The Buffalo Bills free-agent signing will miss the 2024 season

Chase Claypool suffered a toe injury in their first week of training camp, initially believed to be day-to-day. He hasn’t practiced since July 28. The Bills placed Claypool on injured reserve, and he will miss the 2024 season.
Given the concerns with the Bills’ depth at wide receiver, they hosted a player from a division rival for a tryout.
The Buffalo Bills hosted a receiver for a tryout

According to Field Yates of ESPN, the Bills hosted Corey Davis for a tryout. Davis hasn’t played a game since 2022 because he announced his retirement before the start of the 2023 season. He expressed interest in a return to the football field in March, applying for NFL reinstatement, and the Jets released him from the reserve/retired list.
Here’s an interesting one: the Bills tried out former Titans and Jets WR Corey Davis. The former 5th overall pick in draft unretired after a year away and is now seeking a return to the league.

Davis caught 32 passes on 64 pass attempts for 536 yards and two touchdowns in his last season with the Jets. He has caught 273 passes for 3,879 yards and 17 touchdowns in his career. He would immediately improve their depth.

Low key, I’d welcome Corey Davis to the Bills roster with Open arms

MVS replacement

He could definitely be a great WR3 for the bills. Even with zach wilson throwing the ball he recorded 32 receptions for 536 yards and two touchdowns. Averaging at 16.8 yards per reception.

Bet he still has some left in the tank, hoped he would come back to the jets.
