For the Buffalo Bills quarterback showing up to work every day is something you can count on from him. And while other signal callers seem to be falling off of the active roster like flies, the Buffalo Bills do not appear to need to draft a quarterback or worry about a replacement for years to come.
Buffalo Bills Consistent Availability
Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen is putting up a great feat of endurance as one of two quarterbacks to have played in all games since 2021. While the other quarterback is Patrick Mahomes of the Kansas City Chiefs, it is more impressive coming from Josh Allen.
Josh Allen has been used for much of his career as a defacto running back. Whether it was by design or out of necessity due to an offensive line that was not able to hold up in protection Allen has run the ball a lot and taken a lot of subsequent hits.
Often leading his team in rushing Allen has since his Wyoming days been able to create plays outside of the pocket and dish out punishing hits to defenders rather than be on the receiving end of hard punishment. While he has taken his fair share of tackles his size and ability to lower his shoulder allows him to get up often looking like nothing has even happened.
Buffalo Bills Switch For The Quarterback
What makes Allen so special is his ability to create plays off-script. There is no question that few can pose the downfield deep pass, while also being able to finish a QB scramble like Allen can. However, this Buffalo Bills offense has seen one notable change since moving to Joe Brady as the offensive coordinator.
The Buffalo Bills are relying less on Allen and trusting more in their running game. With the renewed emergence of James Cook, Allen does not have to play the superhero role every day just for the Buffalo Bills to be in the game anymore.
This switch is not only proving to be working out better for the offense but it will also allow Allen to continue his three-year streak for many more seasons to come.
What Is Up Ahead For The Buffalo Bills
The division title is still up for grabs! With the Miami Dolphins playing the Baltimore Ravens a loss would set everything up for a season finale in Miami for the number one seed out of the AFC East. And with how Buffalo is playing, Miami would be facing a buzzsaw in the Bills.
But first, the Bills will need to take care of business against the New England Patriots at home. While the Patriots won the earlier matchup, a lot has changed for the Buffalo Bills since their last encounter. Most notable is the aforementioned increase in the dedication to the run game.
Also with additional pieces coming back from injury to the defense, the Bills should be able to easily handle a limited Patriots roster. With a win essentially locking up a wild card spot Yes an improbable path would still exist to miss, but for the most part, it would be a sealed playoff spot.
