The Buffalo Bills have won three games in a row and four of their last five contests as they gear up to make a last-ditch effort to win the AFC East. In a move to make a late-season push, the Bills brought in a former starting offensive tackle for a workout on Friday. Per ESPN’s Field Yates, Buffalo worked out former Cincinnati Bengals offensive lineman La’el Collins.

Collins last played for the Cincinnati Bengals in 2022. He could provide the AFC East club with depth at either tackle position.
La’el Collins: Nine-Year NFL Veteran
La’el Collins, an undrafted free agent from the LSU Tigers, starred in college before a police investigation derailed his NFL draft prospects. After not being named a suspect, Collins signed with the Dallas Cowboys, playing seven seasons with the club. He started 71 of a possible 74 games from the Cowboys and was a part of the 2021 team that led the league in scoring.
Dallas released Collins in March of 2022, opening the door for the Cincinnati Bengals to sign him to a three-year deal. Collins started 15 games for the Bengals in 2022 but did not appear in a game this season. He started the year on the reserve/PUP lost before the club released him in mid-September.
Buffalo Bills: Looking to Win AFC East
The Buffalo Bills still have an outside chance of winning the AFC East despite trailing the 11-4 Miami Dolphins by two games. Buffalo faces a suspended New England Patriots on Sunday, while Miami will travel to Baltimore to take on the red-hot Ravens. A win by Buffalo and a loss by Miami will set up a winner-take-all for the division in Week 18. The Bills beat the Dolphins 48-20 earlier in the season, setting up Sean McDermott’s squad for a sweep of their divisional rivals.
However, winning the division is one of many ways for the Bills to get into the postseason. Buffalo holds the second spot in the AFC Wild Card race, holding a one-game advantage over four 8-7 teams.
