The Buffalo Bills will be without one of their top pass catchers on Thursday Night Football against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Coach Sean McDermott announced on Wednesday that tight end Dawson Knox would be unavailable for tomorrow’s game.

Buffalo Bills OUT a Pair of Tight Ends on TNF
Knox, alongside fellow tight end Quintin Morris, won’t play on Thursday. The duo has combined for 16 catches for 117 yards and two touchdowns. Knox suffered a wrist injury in Week 5 against the Jacksonville Jaguars. After initially trying to play through it over the past two Sundays, the one-time Pro-Bowler will undergo surgery. Meanwhile, Morris will miss a second consecutive game with an ankle injury. Rookie and former first-round pick Dalton Kincaid is the only other active TE on the roster.
Dawson Knox: NFL Career
Dawson Knox, a third-round pick in the 2019 NFL draft, was amid his worst statistical pro season before going under the knife for surgery. Knox averaged 14.6 receiving yards per game, a far cry from the 34.5 he averaged as a Pro-Bowler last season.
The 26-year-old has just one touchdown this season after snagging 15 over the past two campaigns. A poor 53.6% catch rate has hampered Knox’s production, as he has caught just 15 of 28 targets.
Dalton Kincaid Show on TNF?
Dalton Kincaid will take on a more significant role on Thursday in the absence of Dawson Knox. The 25th overall selection in the 2023 NFL draft, Kincaid has caught 25 of 27 targets for 193 yards and no scores. The rookie was first-team All-Pac-12 in 2022 with the Utah Utes.
The Bills also have tight end Joel Wilson on the practice squad. The fellow rookie has not played this regular season but had 82 receptions for 874 yards and 12 touchdowns in five years at Central Michigan.
