    Brock Purdy Comments

We all know that Brock Purdy and the San Francisco 49ers a dominant force in the NFL. Following the win over the Pittsburgh Steelers in week one, the young and talented 49ers’ quarterback leaned in on why this team is so successful. Purdy says that San Francisco has a rare unselfishness to their style of play, putting all ego aside to win as a team and not individually.

Brock Purdy says the #49ers have a "Rare" unselfishness.

"I think you have all this, stardom on a team and what not, and for everyone to just put the ego aside and be like, ‘Hey, we want to win. We want to win a Super Bowl and we’re going to do what it takes,'"

When you watch this team play, it is clear that Brock Purdy is telling the truth. The ability to spread the ball around so everybody can contribute to the success the 49ers are having has been a huge reason for their dominant play. With a great balance of rushing and passing from the offense and the super-talented defense, San Francisco knows how to win games as a team.

    Offensive Dominance

In the first game of the season against the Steelers, the 49ers dominated the game on all sides of the ball, which led them to win 30-7. Purdy went for 220 passing yards and two touchdowns, both of them going to star receiver Brandon Aiyuk. Running back Christian McCaffrey also had a great game, rushing for 152 yards and a touchdown. Other stars on the 49ers’ offense, including Deebo Samuel, and George Kittle, were rather quiet in Sunday’s game. However, as we all know and expect, it is only a matter of time until these guys get going, which will lift this team even more as the season progresses.

    Defensive Success

The 49ers’ formidable defense serves as a great compliment to their dominant offense. The San Francisco defense was able to get five sacks and nine quarterback hits against the Steelers in week one. To go along with this, interceptions by Talanoa Hufanga and Charvarius Ward shut down the passing game from Pittsburgh. Overall, this defense looks like it can be one of, if not the best, in the league this season.

    Overall Team Play

What the 49ers have going on is very special. Brock Purdy is absolutely right; the unselfishness from every teammate has helped San Francisco get to where they are now, which is Super Bowl contenders. As the season gets underway here in 2023, it will be interesting to follow this team’s journey and see what kind of success they can amount to.
