There are not many players more beloved in Green Bay Packers history than three-time MVP quarterback Brett Favre. During his 15 seasons under center for the Packers, he became the face of the franchise and set the standard for Hall of Fame quarterback play in Green Bay.
Favre’s down-to-earth and good ole boy demeanor resonated especially with Packers fans, who viewed him as a man after their own heart. Even a very public battle with painkiller addiction did little to tarnish his image during his playing days in the NFL’s smallest market.
But once he left, well, what he was/is like in private became more well-known. And it cost him more than a few fans.
Brett Favre Has Been Involved in Multiple Scandals Since Leaving the Green Bay Packers

Green Bay traded Favre to the New York Jets prior to the 2008 NFL season. While he made the Pro Bowl in his lone season with the Jets, Favre is most remembered for a scandal that occurred off the field rather than for his play on it.
At the time, Favre was accused of sending a lewd photo of himself via text message to Jenn Sterger, who worked for the Jets as a sideline reporter.
Sterger was dragged by fans and the media at the time because they could not imagine that Favre, who they held in high esteem, would do such a thing, especially since his wife, Dianna, was battling breast cancer at the time.
Back in 2011, Sterger gave her first public comments regarding the scandal, saying “I’ve never met him. We’ve never met. There was never an introduction.
“I haven’t made a dime off anything in this whole situation. Not from the pictures. Not from Favre. I never wanted to sue anyone. That was never an intention of mine. I’m not a gold-digger. The only way I wanted to make my money this whole time was to just have a job.”
She went on to say that Favre was relentlessly pursuing her, despite the fact that she refused to give him the time of day.
“I didn’t want anything to do with it in 2008, I (didn’t) want anything to do with it in 2010. I still don’t want anything to do with it now. The only reason I feel like I have to give this interview is … for me. For my family. This has nothing to do with Brett Favre. It doesn’t. I just want people to know me. And to know that I’m not a gold-digger. And I’m not a home-wrecker.”
And now, 14 years later, she has spoken again.

As many fans are aware, there is a new Favre documentary being aired by Netflix that will be available for streaming on May 20. In this “Fall of Favre” documentary, Sterger speaks out once again.
A recent promotional advertisement for the documentary sees the former Jets reporter claiming that Favre and the situation he got her into ruined her life.
“Brett Favre ultimately destroyed my life,” she can be heard saying. “I was at a game, and someone said Brett Favre wanted my phone number. And I just kept saying, ‘No.”’
“When someone shows you who they are, believe them.”
The documentary will also detail Favre’s alleged involvement in the Mississippi Welfare Scandal.
