Free agent and former Browns running back Kareem Hunt has just signed a $4 million one-year-deal to go back to Cleveland. This comes in light of the Nick Chubb injury from week 2, that took Chubb out for the season. Reports say that Hunt also visited New Orleans and Indianapolis before ending up back where he played last.

How Kareem Hunt Will Impact the Browns Season
Kareem Hunt will be teamed up with Jerome Ford, the Browns’ second string running back, who played the rest of the Monday Night Football game after Chubb was carted off the field. Hunt can have a big impact on his team, as he is very familiar with the offensive scheme since he used to be a part of it before.
From 2019-2022, Hunt rushed for 1,874 yards and 16 touchdowns in his first campaign with Cleveland. He also averaged 4.2 yards per carry and caught 132 passes for 973 yards and seven scores. If Hunt can put up similar numbers this season with the Browns, they should be just fine when it comes to the running game.
Kevin Stefanski’s Reaction
Following the brutal Injury to Chubb, Browns’ head coach Kevin Stefanski weighed in on just how important Nick Chubb is to the Browns’ organization. He said, “You don’t replace Nick Chubb, you just don’t do that. Great players in the league, you look around, they go out. It’s always not one person that replaces a player of [Chubb’s] caliber. So, everybody’s got to do a little bit more, a little bit more everywhere,”
With Chubb certainly being very impactful for the Browns, Hunt will look to keep the rushing game going on offense, as he will most likely start trading reps with Ford to start things off.
