The Cleveland Browns have had some instability at the quarterback position these last few weeks. This comes after losing starting QB Deshaun Watson for the season. Now, the Cleveland Browns have made some moves to try to find a permanent solution.
Cleveland Browns Waive QB P.J. Walker
According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, the Browns are waiving QB P.J. Walker. He appeared in six games this season for Cleveland and started in two of those games. Unfortunately, his performance in those games was not good enough.
Walker had 674 passing yards, five interceptions, and just one touchdown pass. He only had a 48.6 completion percentage. Now, he is going to have to find a new job with those numbers.
Cleveland Browns Activate QB Joe Flacco
Along with the above news, the Browns decided to activate veteran QB Joe Flacco. This comes shortly after putting him back on the practice squad earlier this week. At the time of writing, there is still no word on if Flacco is going to start tomorrow’s game against the Jacksonville Jaguars or not. However, this is an encouraging sign.
Flacco made a case to retain the starting QB job in last week’s loss against the Los Angeles Rams. He had 254 passing yards, two touchdown passes, and one interception in that game.
Now, the Cleveland Browns have a tough decision on their hands. They have to decide whether they will start Flacco or rookie QB Dorian Thompson-Robinson. The latter just got out of concussion protocol.
