The Arizona Cardinals and defensive end LJ Collier have agreed on a one year deal to bring him back to Arizona. Collier had an impressive training camp for the Cardinals a season ago, and the coaching staff expected him to be a staple in the trenches. However, Collier suffered a season ending bicep injury in the season opener. Before leaving the game Collier recorded two solo tackles in a game where the Cardinals defense turned heads with their speed and effort. Collier was selected 29th overall in the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft by the Seattle Seahawks.
The #AZCardinals are signing former first-round DE LJ Collier back on a 1-year deal, per his agent Scott Casterline: “He’s excited to be a Cardinal.”

What This Means for the Cardinals Moving Forward
In GM Monti Ossenfort’s first off season a year ago, the Arizona Cardinals were quiet. After a year where the team displayed a relentlessness to never quit and play with maximum effort every snap, the team enters 2024 with sneaky expectations to be a surprise team in the NFC. The current state of the Cardinals defensive line unit is full of youth, much like the rest of the team. I’d expect this not to be the last move we see the Cardinals make to establish a physical presence up front for Head Coach Jonathan Gannon. Given the Cardinals cap situation they can be strong players in a defensive line free agent class featuring Christian Wilkins and Leonard Williams.
