Bills Decision To Release Veteran Causes Fans To Absolutely Erupt

The Buffalo Bills (like the rest of the league) have begun their roster cuts.  By August 27th, all 32 teams in the NFL will need to make the tough decisions to trim their roster to just 53 players.

Every year there are surprise cuts and surprise players who make the 53-man roster.  That was no different with the Bills’ choice to release one veteran today.

Our very own Taylor Hartman covered the news earlier today:

The Buffalo Bills are looking to remain as one of the relevant teams in the AFC and the NFL this season after losing some key pieces this offseason. With several key players on different teams in 2024 such as star receiver Stefon Diggs, the Bills are predicted to slightly decline this season.

With teams finalizing their 53-man rosters before the regular season, Buffalo is doing the same, including their quarterback.

The Bills are releasing quarterback Anthony Brown to make room for their final roster before the start of the regular season. Brown is just one of many players from the team being cut, including wide receiver Damiere Byrd, linebacker Deion Jones, defensive end Rondell Bothroyd, and corner Kyron Brown.

Deion Jones has had an incredible career so far in the NFL, however, it seems to have fallen off as of late.

In the 2016 NFL draft, Jones was selected by the Atlanta Falcons in the second round. As a rookie in 2016, the LSU product finished third in the AP Defensive Rookie of the Year voting and made his first Pro Bowl appearance in 2017.

During Jones’ six seasons manning the middle of the defense for Atlanta, he racked up 652 tackles, 11.0 sacks, and 11 interceptions. He was traded to the Cleveland Browns in October of 2022 for a 2024 sixth-round pick and played in 11 games, recording 44 combined tackles and 2.5 sacks.

Jones was once regarded as one of the better middle linebackers in the NFL, and now he isn’t even making the final 53-man roster.  Fans took notice of that:
