The Big 12 Media Days are underway and new commissioner Brett Yormark is off to a fiery start. Expansion questions were the headline of his first appearance on stage in Arlington, TX. Yormarks’ responses should be encouring for league fans.
“The league is exploring all (realignment) options,” Yormark said when asked about Pac-12 interest “I have received a lot of calls & a lot of interest.”
Brett Yormark on interest in Pac-12 schools: "We are exploring all options and we are open for business. I think it's fair to say I've received a lot of phone calls, a lot of interest. Nothing is imminent."

Yormark is confident the Big 12 will stick together & expansion is a priority
The new commissioner pushed a strong narrative that the Big 12 was unified and in a great position moving forward.
“We are a very unified group,” Yormark said “It was one of the things that drew me to the Job, the alignment that the board and AD community all have for going forward.”
He would also praise the conferences’ “upside'” for marketability & nationalizing its brand/business. Yormark would also discuss the future Media Rights deal & how his years of experience with Fox & ESPN can “Enhance and amplify the value equation.”
A lot of questions glare at the Big 12. Brett Yormark, however, seems to have ever-growing confidence in the future of the Big 12. Whether expansion is on the horizon or not is an answer for another day.
