The Baltimore Ravens are now looking to bounce back from their deflating Week 3 overtime loss at the hands of the Indianapolis Colts. They have a divisional matchup up ahead against the Cleveland Browns, with both teams currently sharing the same 2-1 record.
There’s a bit more at stake for star defensive end Jadevean Clowney, who will now be facing his former team after his unceremonious exit with Cleveland last season.
Baltimore Ravens DE Jadeveon Clowney Has No ‘Bad Blood’ With Brown
Clowney did not like the fact that the Browns decided to deactivate him for the final game of last season. He made his true feelings known about it by criticizing the team and their decision. Cleveland’s brass did not appreciate the jab, and they decided to send the three-time Pro Bowler home before eventually releasing him.
Be that as it may, the 30-year-old claims that there’s no “bad blood” between himself and the Browns:
“I’m not going to talk about nothing that happened, with the teammates, coaching staff, nothing,” Clowney said, via Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic. “It was locker room talk that got out. I don’t care what happened last yr. I play for the Baltimore Ravens now.”
Jadeveon Clowney Raring to Go
While there might be no ill will here, Clowney still remains as motivated as ever. When asked if there’s a little bit more fire in his belly now that he’s about to go to battle against his former Cleveland teammates, the Ravens DE provided an honest response:
“I don’t think I ever necessarily need no extra motivation,” he said. “It’s a division game. I have a lot of respect for a lot of guys over there, a lot of friends over there. I hope for them the best, but not against us.”
Clowney appears to have moved on from his time with the Browns as well as his rather unsavory exit. Be that as it may, you can be sure that he will be out to prove something come Sunday.
