Baltimore Ravens: Fans Destroy Isaiah Likely For Downplaying Kansas City Chiefs Victory in 2024 Season Opener

On Thursday, the Baltimore Ravens and the Kansas City Chiefs played an epic and thrilling matchup to kick off the 2024 season. Trailing 27-20 with 19 seconds remaining, Baltimore’s offense sat on the Kansas City ten-yard-line, and after a misfire from quarterback Lamar Jackson to receiver Zay Jones, the signal-caller threw what appeared to be the game-winning touchdown on the next and final play of the contest. However, after a lengthy review, officials determined that tight end Isaiah Likely did not establish both feet inbounds, resulting in a compelling Chiefs victory.

Following the game, Likely spoke to the media, massively downplaying the Chiefs’ ultimate 27-20 victory, oozing confidence that his team would win a rematch in the postseason. With Kansas City now 6-1 in their last seven games against Baltimore, fans quickly jumped on Likely for his postgame remarks.

According to Barstool Sports on Twitter, Baltimore Ravens tight end Isaiah Likely is not impressed by the Kansas City Chiefs following Thursday’s hard-fought loss:

If this is the best that they got…good luck in the postseason.

Surely, this won’t backfire for Isaiah Likely.

Likely looked to score the game-winning touchdown as time expired, with quarterback Lamar Jackson finding the tight end in the back of the endzone. However, despite the ruling of a touchdown on the field, NFL rules officials overturned the play, resulting in an incomplete pass and, ultimately, a Kansas City Chiefs victory. Likely shined, snagging nine passes for 111 yards and a touchdown, albeit the final play got negated. It was just his second career NFL game eclipsing 100 receiving yards.

Likely was understandably frustrated postgame, yelling expletives at a Kansas City fan while returning to the away locker room. However, speaking to the media after the 2024 regular-season opener, he remained confident that the Ravens would beat the Chiefs in a rematch. Naturally, NFL fans mocked Likely for his comments, putting him on blast via Twitter:
