Those wondering whether Kansas Football will be motivated in tonight’s Guaranteed Rate Bowl do not need to worry. Kansas Football is trying to win its first bowl game since 2008 as it takes on the UNLV Rebels. To give some perspective, only Colorado and Indiana have gone longer without a bowl win in the P5. https://twitter.com/KU_Football/status/1739455052207525908 There are some games that seem to carry more weight than others in the postseason. For example, Utah lost to Northwestern in the Las Vegas Bowl and everyone has already moved on. This is not one of those games. Win or lose, there are…

UNLV and Kansas Football will square off Tuesday evening in the Guaranteed Rate Bowl in a game that is almost sure to feature plenty of points and momentum swings. UNLV (9-4) is coming off two consecutive losses to San Jose State and Boise State while Kansas comes in having lost two of their last three, but a win over Cincinnati in the regular season finale. This is important to note because oftentimes teams carry momentum into the postseason, but it appears that neither team will be able to do that. Kansas is clearly the favorite in this game, and should…

Puka Nacua is making his case to be the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year at the right time as the season enters its final few weeks. The former BYU standout receiver is playing his best football of the season (which is saying something) as he makes a case to be the third receiver in a row to win the award joining the Jets’ Garrett Wilson and Ja’Maar Chase. The fifth-round draft pick was certainly expected to be a contributor this season for the Rams, and even more so when Cooper Kupp missed a few games at the beginning of…

As expansion talks heat up again (as if they ever cooled down), Big 12 fans are left wondering what and how the conferences will all end up lining up. For the Big 12, they have perhaps the most questions and least amount of answers. In fact, it isn’t even particularly close. The Big 10 and SEC can be pretty confident that they either will be expanding with some combination of Florida State, Miami, Clemson, and North Carolina, or they won’t be. Teams like NC State, Oregon State, or Pittsburgh aren’t on their radars. They are for the Big 12. The…

In their final game before leaving the Pac 12 and joining the Big 12, Utah Football will face off against Big 10 foe Northwestern in the SRS Distribution Las Vegas Bowl Game. The Utes come into the game with an 8-4 record while the Wildcats posted a 7-5 record this season. This game is set up to be a very interesting matchup which will feature two excellent defenses facing off against offenses that struggled during the regular season and will be missing key players through the transfer portal and opt-outs. On paper, Utah would appear to be the clear favorite…

Every team in the Big 12 has a list of needs or wants this offseason. Whether is is directly related to the current team, or doing more with fan experience and facility upgrades, every team and fanbase wants something. With Christmas coming up in just two days, here are the gifts that each team is hoping to get in the next year. Baylor – Transfer portal miracle. Sometimes, a flat out miracle is needed, and for Baylor this is the case. After a tough season, the Bears didn’t do much on National Signing Day or in the transfer portal to…

In their inaugural season in the Big 12, UCF Football will face off against ACC foe Georgia Tech in the Union Home Mortgage Gasparilla Bowl. Both teams come into this game 6-6, but the way that they reached bowl eligibility couldn’t have been different. Georgia Tech made it to six wins with about the least conventional way of getting to bowl eligibility.  There were a few predictable wins against teams like Virginia and South Carolina State, as well as predictable losses against Georgia and Florida State. However, the rest of their schedule made no sense with losses to Boston College…

The Big 12 did very well on Early National Signing Day with seven teams breaking the Top 50 in the overall rankings according to 247 Sports. Looking at overall rankings can be a good indicator of what to expect in the coming years, but it doesn’t always tell the entire story. For example, BYU Football has consistently overperformed from where their recruiting rankings may suggest. Over the past five seasons, the Cougars have averaged the 74th-ranked recruiting classes yet have put together a 41-22 record during that same time span. One has to wonder what their record may have been…

There are a lot of questions of how the future of the Big 12 will look. With the recent but completely predictable scenario playing out with Florida State, it appears that the ACC may be heading towards the same path as the Pac 12. If the Big 10 or SEC goes after the ACC and takes some of the biggest brands, such as Clemson, North Carolina, and Miami, one has to wonder where the Big 12 would sit in the world of college football. One may think that the Big 12, being one of the last three power conferences, is…

Last season, Colorado Football brought in 51 transfer portal players in an unprecedented strategy by new Head Coach Deion Sanders. The strategy seemed to, in some ways, work with the Buffs starting the season with big wins against TCU and Nebraska, but the team later wavered to a 4-8 record and a six-game losing streak to finish out the season. Everyone knew Coach Prime was never going to be a conventional coach, but some may have thought that perhaps he would take a small step back and go a more conventional route by recruiting more high school players and fewer…
