The Atlanta Falcons finished with an 8-9 record last season and missed the playoffs once again in the NFC South. The Falcons have a lot of offensive talent on paper, but they haven’t been able to make the playoffs over the last few years.

One player who will be entering the final year of his contract is tight end Kyle Pitts. He is 24 years old and it remains to be seen if he will receive a second contract from the Falcons. Pitts was the fourth overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.
CBS Sports Writer Cody Benjamin Thinks That the Atlanta Falcons Could Trade Kyle Pitts Before the 2025 NFL Season

CBS Sports writer Cody Benjamin wrote about several different names who could be traded before the 2025 NFL. One name he mentioned who could be traded this offseason is Atlanta Falcons tight end Kyle Pitts. There is no question that several teams need a tight end and a vertical receiving threat. Benjamin said:
“A running joke in Atlanta due to his relative lack of usage since a 1,000-yard debut in 2021, the former first-round pick is precisely the kind of building block the Falcons should probably be retaining and maximizing, given Pitts is still just 24 with a wide receiver’s skill set. But if they don’t have major long-term plans for the tight end, now would be the time to collect offers, ahead of his 2025 contract season. Imagine a contender like the Eagles making a luxury upgrade at the position by pursuing his upside.”
Pitts last season with the Falcons caught 47 passes for 602 yards receiving and four touchdowns, along with averaging 12.8 yards per reception. He was targeted 74 times. Atlanta did not use him enough in the offense last season. If the Atlanta Falcons trade him, there is no doubt that there are going to be suitors for him next season.
Potential Suitors

There are a few teams that will look to trade for the star tight end. The New York Jets, the Indianapolis Colts, the Kansas City Chiefs, the Cincinnati Bengals, and the Los Angeles Rams could be some of the teams that trade for him this offseason. The Jets, the Colts, the Rams, and the Bengals need a number one tight end.
Also, the Chiefs need a tight end for the future to replace Travis Kelce despite him potentially coming back next season. The Atlanta Falcons could ask for a first or second round pick back in return for him, but teams would probably give up a third, fourth, or fifth round pick for him instead. The Falcons should try and find a way to keep him for the long-term, but trading him now would be better than letting him walk in free agency next season.
