The Atlanta Falcons and their fans got their first look at Bijan Robinson last night. The top-ten pick made his preseason debut and it did not disappoint. Despite not playing a lot, he dazzled in his NFL debut.
Atlanta Falcons Bijan Robinson Dazzles In Debut
His first run went for 12 yards which doesn’t seem like a lot but his entire skill set was on display. He ran past one defender, evaded another with some great footwork, and then pushed through contact to fall forward for more yards. All of it was on display. His elusiveness, speed, and ability to use his agility to cause problems for defenses wowed fans and analysts. Robinson talked about the experience after the game.
“It was definitely a good feeling. It was just that little outside zone and just stretched it a little bit, got underneath the slips and then had to make the guy miss. That’s what we practice every day in camp.
While other players like Bryce Young and CJ Stroud are struggling in their first appearances, Robinson looks ready to make an impact right away.
Scary Rushing Attack
Opponents are going to hate playing this rushing offense. Robinson is going to be a problem to corral and his ability to catch passes out of the backfield makes him a matchup nightmare. There is nothing more frustrating for a defense than having your opponent march down the field in 4-8 yard chunks and the Falcons look to grind out their opponents. The real question is whether Desmond Ridder can make teams pay for stacking the box. Kyle Pitts and Drake London are tantalizing weapons but they need to be factors in the offense on some level.
The Atlanta Falcons and their fans are going to have fun watching Bijan Robinson this year. It will be interesting to see how many yards he racks up in his rookie season.
