The Arkansas Razorbacks went into 2023 with some promise but ultimately struggled. Quarterback KJ Jefferson had some preseason Heisman buzz but the team could never get off the ground finishing at the bottom of the SEC. With Jefferson likely leaving via the transfer portal or the NFL Draft, the Razorbacks landed former Boise State quarterback Taylen Green from the portal.

Arkansas Razorbacks Land QB Taylen Green
Green was the 2022 Mountain West Freshman of the Year as well as Football News Freshman All-America Second Team honors. He had 1,752 passing yards with 11 touchdowns and nine interceptions this season and led the Broncos to a Mountain West title. In his freshman year, he had 2,042 yards with 14 touchdowns and six interceptions and also has over 1,000 rushing yards in his career. Green will hopefully be a replacement for Jefferson as new offensive coordinator Bobby Petrino looks to fix the offense.
Tough SEC
A bounce-back year will not be easy. With Texas and Oklahoma joining the conference, there are more tough games on the schedule. The Razorbacks have to play Ole Miss, Texas, LSU, Auburn, and Missouri next year among others. It is an absolute gauntlet of a schedule but getting Green in the program is a step in the right direction. It is also early in the offseason and Arkansas has plenty of time to land more talent via the portal or on the recruiting trail.
Arkansas Razorbacks head coach Sam Pittman is going to have his hands full in 2024. Getting Green is a huge win but there is still a lot of work to do.
