The Alabama Crimson Tide finished with a 9-3 record during the 2024 college football regular season. Alabama just missed out on the college football playoffs, and it will be interesting to see what head coach Kalen DeBoer does during his second season with the program.

The Crimson Tide will have a brutal schedule in SEC Conference play. Alabama is looking to get back to the postseason. There could be some potential consequences for this football program if they were to miss the college football playoffs for the second consecutive season.
College Football Analyst Reveals Potential Worst-Case Scenario For the Alabama Crimson Tide

Brad Crawford of CBS Sports believes the best-case scenario for Alabama for the 2025 season is for them to finish with a 12-0 record during the regular season. However, he feels as if the worst-case scenario for Alabama will be them finishing with an 8-4 record. There is a world that could feel very realistic for this football program.
“All hell will break loose among Alabama supporters if the Crimson Tide stub their toe against Florida State or Wisconsin before opening SEC play at Georgia on Sept. 27. The Seminoles have a new offense under Gus Malzahn and the Badgers are struggling to find footing with Luke Fickell in charge. Even with those games out of the way, Alabama has six matchups with teams inside CBS Sports’ post-spring top 25 rankings. We’re setting the floor at eight wins. If DeBoer gets Alabama to the playoff, this team will have earned it.”
It would be hard for Alabama to slip up against Wisconsin or Florida State before conference play. It wouldn’t be a surprise to see the Crimson Tide lose to the Georgia Bulldogs and the South Carolina Gamecocks on the road in 2025. They didn’t beat the Tennessee Volunteers on the road in 2024, but it would be surprising if the Crimson Tide lost to Tennessee this time around.
Another potential loss on the Crimson Tide schedule could be against the LSU Tigers. They host the Tigers, but LSU will look to embarrass Alabama on the road. The Crimson Tide absolutely dismantled the Tigers in 2024. A lot could be riding on the college football playoff in that game as well. Alabama missing the playoffs once again could out DeBoer on the hot seat entering the 2026 college football season.
