Bama fans and the team have circled this game for months, the game vs Texas A&M. After last season’s last-second field goal loss this has been the game everybody has been looking forward to. There is also the preseason drama, Texas A&M had the number one recruiting class of the year and Alabama Coach Nick Saban said that the faculty bought every one of their players which of course Jimbo Fisher and the rest of his staff didn’t like that statement. Sure Jimbo Fisher hid it on SEC media days, but you could tell he was still upset. This isn’t the first time that Nick Saban has gotten under Jimbo Fisher’s skin, he said one time that “Jimbo Fisher couldn’t beat me in golf”. Let’s hope it’s a good game and no drama unfolds this Saturday.
There is some devastating news that we got to bring up. The starting quarterback Bryce Young injured his shoulder during the first half of the Arkansas game. However, I wouldn’t hit the panic button just yet. Backup quarterback Jalen Milroe did a phenomenal job throwing 2 touchdown passes and ran a fantastic run on a 3rd and 15 in Alabama territory. No Arkansas pun intended but The Staff is high on the hog for Jalen Milroy. He’s 6’2 to Bryce’s 5’11, he’s 216 pounds to Bryce’s 195 pounds and during the first practice the staff timed everyone’s speed and Jalen’s time was the fastest out of everybody so again no reason to panic.
This is a game that not just a Bama fan, but a college football fan that I’ve been looking forward toward. I never know what to expect with this rivalry. I didn’t expect Johnny Manziel and company to march into Tuscaloosa in 2012 and pick up the win, nor did I expect Alabama to come to College Station the next year and pick up the win. I didn’t expect Bama to lose on a last-second field goal last year so you never know what to expect from this rivalry. Hopefully, it lives up to the hype, and Whether being led by Bryce Young or Jalen Milroe let’s hope the Tide can secure a victory. Roll Tide!
