The Alabama Crimson Tide are preparing for their matchup with the Michigan Wolverines. However, with how the college football calendar is set up, they also have to deal with the transfer portal chaos. The Crimson Tide have lost some talent but got a huge piece through the portal today. Former Texas A&M defensive lineman LT Overton announced he is committing to Alabama.

Alabama Lands DL LT Overton From The Transfer Portal
Overton was the sixth overall prospect in the class of 2022. In his freshman year, he had 31 total tackles, 3 tackles for loss and a sack. His production dipped last season and with all the changes coming to the Aggies program, he felt it was time for a change. He has this to say in a statement to ESPN.
“I feel like it was a great learning process. I developed well at A&M. Coach [Terry] Price, the coaching staff that was there when I was there, they all did well. It was a learning process, especially when [Price] died. I felt like the whole curve changed. It was a new defensive scheme and style of play that I had to process.”
Nick Saban gets a huge piece for his defensive line which always seems to be one of the best in the nation.
2024 Outlook
The Crimson Tide have to be happy about where they sit going into 2024. They have quarterback Jalen Milroe coming back to lead the offense. Saban is one of the best coaches in all of college football and they will bring in another top recruiting class in 2024. The SEC gets more difficult and an in-season matchup with the Georgia Bulldogs will be an early test but the Crimson Tide have shown they can compete with anyone.
Can Alabama win a title in 2023? Saban has never gone three years in a row without a title recently so he is due to make a run.
