Like most years, the Alabama football program will have a laundry list of players selected during the 2024 NFL draft. After another appearance in the College Football Playoff, most big boards around the league are flush with talent that once donned the crimson, gray, and white. NFL draft expert Daniel Jeremiah has four former Crimson Tide players in his top 50 big board. However, on Wednesday, he updated his exclusive list, with former Alabama defensive back Kool-Aid McKinstry shooting up his big board by six spots.
Only Texas wide receiver Xavier Worthy moved up as much as McKinstry on Jeremiah’s updated list. Worthy ran an NFL record 4.21 40-yard dash at last month’s scouting combine in Indianapolis. Meanwhile, his teammate, Adonai Mitchell, dropped two spots on the most updated big board.
Former Alabama Football CB Kool-Aid McKinstry: Bumped Up Six Spots in Updated Big Board

Among the biggest risers on NFL Network’s Daniel Jeremiah’s big board is longtime Alabama corner Kool-Aid McKinstry. Jeremiah praises McKinstry, especially for his ability to play off-coverage.
“From off coverage, everything he does is smooth, but he lacks twitch and urgency. He does find and play the ball well, both in front of him and down the field. He isn’t ultra-aggressive when it comes to getting involved in the run game, but he’s a reliable tackler in space. Overall, Kool-Aid has a lot of redeeming qualities. He’s not the fastest cornerback, but he showed enough speed at his pro day to help his stock heading into the draft,” says Jeremiah regarding McKinstry’s playmaking ability.

McKinstry ran a 4.47 40-yard dash during his Pro Day. At 6-foot, 199 pounds, he is one of the more prominent corners in this year’s draft class. He also has ideal arm length for his position, a necessity for corners who want to play press man against some of the top talent in the NFL. McKinstry has seven passes defended in 2023 with no interceptions.
Alabama Crimson Tide: Top-End Talent in 2024 NFL Draft

Kool-Aid McKinstry is not the only former Alabama star to crack Daniel Jeremiah’s top 50 big board. Fellow corner Terrion Arnold, edge rusher Dallas Turner, and offensive tackle JC Latham join McKinstry on the updated list. Arnold leads the way, clocking in as the ninth overall prospect per Jeremiah. Arnold posted 63 tackles, five interceptions, and 12 passes defended in 2023.
Meanwhile, Turner earned All-American honors last season after recording 14.5 TFLs and 10.0 sacks. Additionally, Latham ranks as the 5th offensive tackler in Jeremiah’s updated big board. At six-foot-six, 325 pounds, he is one of the biggest linemen in the upcoming draft class.
