The Alabama Crimson Tide defeated the Georgia Bulldogs 41-34 this past Saturday. Malachi Moore and the Crimson Tide are moving past that matchup and will look forward to playing the Vanderbilt Commodores on the road this weekend.
On Sunday, the Crimson Tide was announced as the new number-one team in the AP Poll ahead of the Texas Longhorns. Alabama is back at being number one in the country just a few weeks into the Kalen DeBoer era. They were here many times in the Nick Saban era.
Alabama Crimson Tide Malachi Moore Makes Statement Heading Into the Vanderbilt Commodores Game
Malachi Moore spoke to the media about the Crimson Tide being the number-one team in the country this week. Moore said:
“We always thought we were the standard of college football anyway.”
It had to take Alabama a few weeks to get to the top of the college football rankings. There were many questions about the Crimson Tide entering the season because a lot of people did not know what the transition from Nick Saban to Kalen DeBoer was going to be like. DeBoer’s success with the Washington Huskies was no fluke from a season ago.
Fans React To His Statement
There are always crazy college football fans on Twitter. Here are what some of them had to say on Twitter about Malachi Moore’s statement:
I did not know the standard blew 28 point leads

Alabama is the standard

i would hope majority of top 10 teams have this mentality

THE Ohio state is the standard of college football

This man is a national champ

The fact that a college football fan snuck in the Ohio State Buckeyes as the standard for college football is quite hilarious. Ohio State hasn’t won it all in a decade. The Crimson Tide have had more success lately than they have in college football. Will Alabama win another National Title this season? It remains to be seen because the SEC is a week-to-week league.
