We are a quarter of the way through the fantasy season. With many leagues taking the last week of the season off we are now officially in the midseason. Here are 3 players to start in fantasy football in week 5.

    Tee Higgins WR Cincinnati Bengals

Tee Higgins has been a great fantasy receiver this season. Week 1 was a little rocky but since then, he has put up double digit points. Last week’s 7 receptions for 124 yards and a touchdown was the peak of his season so far. I expect this to continue in week 5. The Bengals face the Baltimore Ravens who have been decimated by injuries in the secondary. Also, Ja’Marr Chase will draw a lot of the attention from the top cornerbacks meaning Higgins will get better looks. Quarterback Joe Burrow is looking his way a lot. Tee Higgins is one of the top players to start in fantasy football in week 5.

Josh Jacobs RB Las Vegas Raiders

The Raiders have started to overhaul their offense after an 0-3 start. It seems as though Josh Jacobs is going to be more of a focus. Last week he had 144 yards on a monster 28 carries and scored twice. He is also seeing targets in the passing game which ups his value. Their opponent this week is the Chiefs. Don’t be fooled by last week’s performance. The Chiefs are allowing the fifth most points to running backs in the league. Tampa Bay spent most of that game down by double digits meaning they need to pass and abandon the run. Jacobs is a safe start this week.

    Dallas Goedert TE Philadelphia Eagles

The Eagles offense is full of firepower. Most of the attention has been on the run game with Miles Sanders having a huge game last week and Jalen Hurts dual threat nature. However, don’t forget about Dallas Goedert especially this week. The opportunity is there as he has gotten between 4 and 6 targets every week. Their opponent, the Arizona Cardinals, are allowing the third most fantasy points to tight ends. In a position that has not seen many huge breakout candidates, Goedert is a safe start for the week.

Want more to hear more on who I think are good starts or sits? Listen to the Gridiron Heroics podcast every Wednesday. For now, these are 3 players that I would start in fantasy football in week 5.
