The 2023 Fantasy Football season is on the horizon! No time like the present to dive into our positional rankings. We begin at the quarterback position:
TIER ONE:
Josh Allen- Buffalo Bills
The King at the Quarterback position–Josh Allen truly deserves a tier to himself. Some may be concerned that Brian Daboll left the Bills for the Giants. I would not be concerned. The Buffalo Bills franchise is as solid as any in the NFL. You can bank on Josh Allen returning value.

TIER TWO:
Patrick Mahomes- Kansas City Chiefs
Seeing Patrick Mahomes on the second tier may be alarming to some, but that is the reality of the situation in Fantasy Football. The Kansas City Chiefs traded Tyreek Hill to the Miami Dolphins in the off-season. There is reason to believe the Chief’s offense won’t be as explosive as it once was. The Chief’s offense may not be as explosive, but it will be as tough to stop as ever. Adding JuJu Smith-Schuster, Marquez Valdes-Scantling, and Skyy Moore to your offense provides Mahomes and Andy Reid with enough firepower to continue to dominate.

Lamar Jackson- Baltimore Ravens
What could have gone wrong went wrong for the Baltimore Ravens in 2021. The Ravens appear to be committed to returning to the dominant run team we saw in years past. I am penciling Lamar Jackon in for 1,000 yards rushing once again. Given that type of baseline, Jackson has sky-high upside. If I were to bet on any Fantasy QB challenging Josh Allen in 2022–it would be Lamar Jackson.

Justin Herbert- Los Angeles Chargers
We are watching an NFL and Fantasy Football superstar develop before our eyes in Justin Herbert. Justin Herbert can make throws that other NFL quarterbacks cannot make. We love the Charger’s offense and their aggressive nature. Playmakers Keenan Allen, Mike Williams, and Austin Ekeler in tow, Justin Herbert feels incredibly safe.

Kyler Murray- Arizona Cardinals
There is a segment of Fantasy Football that is downplaying Kyler Murray, and I just don’t get it. Kyler Murray has shown us stretches of MVP-caliber play during his young NFL career. Kyler Murray can provide you with Fantasy points with his legs. DeAndre Hopkins, Marquis Brown, James Conner, and Zach Ertz boost Kyler Murray’s ceiling, and he deserves consideration in this tier of quarterbacks.

Jalen Hurts- Philadelphia Eagles
Jalen Hurts is a Fantasy Football enigma. The Philadelphia Eagles are questioning whether Jalen Hurts is the future at the quarterback position, which leaves Fantasy players to worry about his long-term viability. Jalen Hurts only threw 16 TD passes in 2021. In fantasy football, rushing production is king. Hurts found the endzone on ten TD runs. The Eagle’s offense is set to improve with the A.J. Brown acquisition, Jalen Hurts feels as safe as they come in redraft leagues.

TIER THREE:
Trey Lance- San Francisco 49ers
If there is one player from the third tier that can make a leap in 2022–it’s Trey Lance. Most of our high-end fantasy quarterbacks can affect the game with their legs. We know that Trey Lance has that capability in spades! Trey Lance carries more risk than other options in this tier, but no one has his type of upside.

Dak Prescott- Dallas Cowboys
Dak Prescott has become one of the better value plays at the quarterback position. Many in fantasy circles are concerned with how Prescott without Amari Cooper. While the Cowboy’s passing game may have lost a little explosiveness, it sounds like the Cowboys will use Dak more as a runner.

Russell Wilson- Denver Broncos
Russell Wilson will have a career resurgence in Denver following the off-season trade from Seattle. The Denver Broncos have surrounded Russell Wilson with young talent in Courtland Sutton, Jerry Jeudy, and Javonte Williams, ready to break through.

Tom Brady- Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Tom Brady continues to defy “Father Time” and plays at a remarkably high level. The Buccaneers are one of the better teams in the league on both sides of the ball. The Buccaneers have spoken about becoming more run-heavy in 2022. The transition in offensive philosophy would limit Brady’s upside.

Joe Burrow- Cincinnati Bengals
Joe Burrow is a fascinating case. I expect the passing volume to increase in 2022. I also expect their passing efficiency to come down. Joe Burrow feels safe as a low-end QB1.

Matthew Stafford- Los Angeles Rams
Sean McVay was able to unlock the Ram’s offense once they acquired quarterback Matthew Stafford. Matthew Stafford feels rock-solid, but won’t offer you the high ceiling of his contemporaries.

THE BEST OF THE REST:
Aaron Rodgers- Green Bay Packers
Kirk Cousins- Minnesota Vikings
Derek Carr- Las Vegas Raiders
Justin Fields- Chicago Bears
Trevor Lawrence- Jacksonville Jaguars
Tua Tagovailoa- Miami Dolphins
Daniel Jones- New York Giants
Mac Jones- New England Patriots
Zach Wilson- New York Jets
Jared Goff- Detroit Lions
Carson Wentz- Washington Commanders
Ryan Tannehill- Tennessee Titans
Matt Ryan- Indianapolis Colts
