We have finally reached the point in the NFL Draft process when people are starting to pick at Ohio State’s wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr.’s draft stock.
Harrison is one of the best wide receiver prospects ever coming out of college, and you can argue that he is the best ever, but one NFL analyst doesn’t think so.
NFL Analyst Chris Simms Doesn’t Think Harrison Is Number One
NBC Sports Chris Simms released a list on Monday of his top wide receiver ranking based on the film. The list was 1. Malik Nabers and 2. Brain Thomas Jr., both from LSU, 3. Marvin Harrison Jr., and 4. Rome Odunze, Washigton, and 5. Roman Wilson, Michigan.
Here’s my Top 5 WRs. Rankings based on film.
Awesome group. So much to like with Nabers, Thomas, and Harrison. I just think the LSU guys are able to separate more and run by you better than Harrison pic.twitter.com/GsqoKflRYX— Chris Simms (@CSimmsQB) March 18, 2024
Of course, people will go after Simms for the list of Harrison as the third-best wide receiver, but he tweeted out why he is his number three receiver and stated, “Marvin Harrison Jr has so much good in his game. He’s NFL ready and will be a star. Catches the ball and gets up the field right away at an elite level. Would’ve been #1 last year. Just don’t think he’s as explosive or gets separation in the same way Nabers & Thomas do. #3 WR.”

Simms Isn’t That Crazy For His Take
Simms released the list to get the people going, but he’s not bashing Harrison. He said he would be a great receiver and star, but Nabers and Thomas have a higher upside. There’s nothing wrong with having Harrison as the number three guy, and even though the rest of the NFL doesn’t view him that way, Simms may see something different.
Harrison is expected to be a Top Five pick in the NFL Draft this April, and Nabers is supposed to follow him right after.
Nabers was a great football player at LSU last season but was sometimes overshadowed by Harrison’s greatness. Simms may be on to something, and we should stop bashing him and listen to his points because he does know a lot about the game.
