Washington Commanders Star Gets Honest About Rookie QB Jayden Daniels
In a recent quote, Commanders’ star wide receiver Terry McLaurin opened up about the young quarterback. It’s very clear that he’s a fan of the new signal caller.
“He’s humble, but he’s confident in his ability. He’s played at the highest level. He’s played against really good competition, and he knows that he can make all the throws. He’s not putting the cart before the horse. He’s literally taking this thing day by day.”
Those are big words coming from a star like McLaurin.
The Washington Commanders’ rookie quarterback is coming off of a massive final college season. In 2023 with the LSU Tigers, he completed 72.2 percent of his pass attempts for 3,812 yards, 40 touchdowns, and just four interceptions. He also picked up 1,134 yards and 10 touchdowns on the ground.
No one should be expecting a superstar rookie season from Daniels, but he does have a good shot to win Offensive Rookie of the Year. His biggest competition is No. 1 overall pick Caleb Williams.
Needless to say, the 2024 season is going to be much more fun for Washington Commanders’ fans. They have a new franchise quarterback who brings elite playmaking skills to the table. Everything has changed and the culture is becoming one to be proud of under new leadership.
Everything is looking up and heading in the right direction for the Commanders. If Daniels reaches his full potential down the road, big things will be in store for Washington.
