The San Francisco 49ers are still fresh off of their tough Super Bowl loss to the Kansas City Chiefs last season. After an impressive run, they came up just one step short. Now, they’re preparing for the 2024 season hoping to take the next step and win a championship.
Most teams that come up short in a Super Bowl get super aggressive during the offseason. The 49ers did not take that approach. They lost quite a few pieces from their run last year, although they did add pieces as well.
However, there are question marks about the team heading into this season. Did they improve, did they stay the same, or did they actually take a step back? We’ll have to wait and see.
All of that being said, former San Francisco 49ers’ star cornerback Richard Sherman spoke out and delivered his prediction for the team’s regular season record.
San Francisco 49ers Receive Big 2024 Prediction From Richard Sherman
Sherman, who is now an NFL analyst, revealed his prediction for the 49ers’ 2024 record during a segment on The Volume. He believes that the team will end up winning 13 regular season games.

Even though there are some question marks about the 49ers this season, they will begin the year as the favorite in the NFC. In fact, they’re actually favored to win all 17 of their regular season games.
Despite the losses they suffered this offseason, the 49ers are returning an elite offense to the field. Brock Purdy leads the way with Christian McCaffrey joining him in the backfield. Neither Brandon Aiyuk or Deebo Samuel have been traded, so they’ll be back for another run as well.
San Francisco lost quite a few pieces from their 2023 defense. Among those losses are Javon Kinlaw, Chase Young, and Arik Armstead. They did sign players to replace them, but those are three major losses.
Despite the departures, the San Francisco 49ers will still feature elite playmakers on the defensive side of the ball. The unit, led by Nick Bosa and Fred Warner, should be just fine and able to be a top-five defense.
A 13-game prediction certainly makes sense for the 49ers. They could end up winning a game or two more or a game or two less. Either way, they’re still clearly an elite Super Bowl contender.
It will be interesting to see how the San Francisco 49ers look during the 2024 season. They are loaded with talent, but getting back to the Super Bowl is never easy. Kyle Shanahan and company have their work cut out for them.
