There have been numerous NFL teams that have been monitoring the UFL season to see if there are players to bring over to the NFL. While there have been numerous stars over the 2024 UFL season who have stood out among their peers, there is kicker that is getting many looks from the league.
Kicker Jake Bates performed incredibly, especially with his deeper kicks of 50 or 60 yards, and he is getting looked at by at least 4 league teams for the 2024 season.

Per NFL insider Aaron Wilson, there are least four teams in the league that put in their request to have Jake Bates visit them this offseason. Jake, who played for the Michigan Panthers in the UFL, has been in the leage before.
The four teams that are reportedly bringing Bates in for a visit are; the Washington Commanders, Green Bay Packers, Detroit Lions and Baltimore Ravens.
“#Commanders #Packers #Lions #Ravens have requested to host @USFLPanthers all-conference kicker Jake Bates for visits, per a league source. It’s a competitive situation for strong-legged kicker, a former #Texans preseason roster member and @TomballISD graduate @RazorbackFB @KPRC2,” Wilson wrote.
Bates was the top kicker in the league earning him All-UFL Team honors for this season, his first year in the league. While he only went 17-22 on his kicks, which is not a bad percentage at all, his 64 yard field goal made him a viral sensation and is probably one of the reasons that so many pro teams are checking him out. That makes sense, as that kick would be the second longest in league history.
The thing about Bates that must impress league teams, is he is a sniper from 60 yards plus. The 64 yarder was not the only long range kick of his short season, as Bates also hit a 60 and 62 yarder with ease during the 2024 season as well.
The young kicker was a stud in college as well where he played for the Arkansas Razorbacks in 2022 and earned First-Team All-SEC honors. He only got checked out by the Houston Texans and was released early on in the season. Now Bates will get another chance in the league and this time he hopes to return with a vengeance.
