Former NFL Pro Hoping To Make The NBA
Funchess has now officially signed to play for the entire season of basketball. If he can show his skills and play well, there is a real chance that Funchess can take his talents to the NBA G-League later on this year. He would be the first man to play for both the NFL and the NBA.
Funchess has not been in the NFL since 2019 when he was a member of the Indianapolis Colts, where he only had 3 catches for 32 yards with the team. Funchess has revealed that he plans to work out for the Los Angeles Clippers’ G-League team and the Charlotte Hornets’ G-league team this September.

Devin Funchess Has Eyes On The NBA
Funchess shared that his main goal is to get to the NBA and that he is going to work hard to become the first man to be able to have played in both the NFL and NBA.
“My end goal is the NBA, get a few seasons over there just like I did in the NFL,” Funchess said about his time training in the Philippines. “Just to be able to compete against the best players in the world, that’ll be a blessing to me. I’ve done it in the football realm already. And it’s nothing but dedication, repetition and just having fun.”
Funchess sent the bulk of his playing career with the Carolina Panthers with Cam Newton. He was able to get to the Super Bowl with the team in 2015 and he had his best individual season in 2017. He totaled; 63 receptions for 840 yards and eight touchdowns.
