The New York Jets have a lot riding on veteran QB Aaron Rodgers. For starters, they are hoping he will be able to play more than four snaps in the 2024 NFL season.
Due to his torn Achilles injury last season, thoughts of retirement came up. As a result, Rodgers had to start thinking about what he would do in life after football. In a press conference today, he revealed that there were only two choices when he thought about retirement.
Aaron Rodgers “Considered” Vice President Campaign

Earlier this offseason, it was revealed that Robert F. Kennedy Jr. floated the idea of having Rodgers as his vice president on his ticket. Rodgers did take the time to address this several weeks ago. However, he did have fun with this idea when talks of potential retirement came back around. Here is the decision Rodgers claimed he faced this offseason:
“There were really two options. Retire and be his VP or keep playing. I wanted to keep playing.” -Aaron Rodgers
For those of you who do not know, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is an American politician. He plans on running for president in this upcoming election. However, due to the likely candidates in the two main parties, RFK Jr. plans to run for president as an independent candidate. Since the original story on Rodgers’ vice president consideration came out, RFK Jr. has chosen Nicole Shanahan as his running mate.
Retirement Realistic for Rodgers?

It was not unreasonable to think Rodgers may have retired following the 2023 NFL season. For one thing, he suffered a very serious injury just four snaps into the season. Plus, he is now 40 years old with his days likely being numbered in the NFL. No one would have blamed him if he had decided to call it quits following that injury.
New York Jets Moving Forward

For now, Rodgers and the Jets are moving forward. This has earned him praise from people such as Jets head coach Robert Saleh. Earlier today, Saleh credited Rodgers for all of the efforts he has made to recover from his torn Achilles injury. Now, Saleh, Rodgers, and the Jets are hoping to have a better 2024 season.
