When the New York Jets traded for Aaron Rodgers in 2023, there was immediate pressure for the team to make the playoffs right away. However, a brutal season-ending injury suffered by the future Hall of Famer had the Jets’ Super Bowl dreams go up in flames. Well, the Jets are getting a mulligan with Rodgers.
The New York Jets Have Pressure to Win in Year 2 of the Aaron Rodgers Experience

Even at 40 years old and with a body that has gone through a lot of injuries, Rodgers is still expected to deliver the goods for the Jets from under center. Of course, the pressure remains high for him and the Jets, as reminded by Bradley Locker of Pro Football Focus.
There’s no organization under more pressure to finally right the ship this upcoming season than the Jets. After the team acquired Aaron Rodgers last year, it seemed as though a decade-plus streak of disappointment would come to an end. But Rodgers tore his Achilles on just the fourth play of the 2023 season, and his backup quarterbacks were awful in his stead.
Rodgers missing the Jets’ recent minicamp doesn’t reflect well on him and his team, but there are still several weeks for them to prepare for the 2024 NFL season.

Last year, the Jets finished with just a 7-10 record despite Rodgers virtually being absent the entire campaign. They had a solid defense that ranked 10th in the league with 20.9 points allowed per game and second with just 292.3 total yards surrendered per contest, Had Rodgers been healthy in 2023 and orchestrated New York’s attack on the field, it’s not a stretch to imagine the Jets making the playoffs. But that’s all in the past now for the Jets, who will once again look to make a splash with Rodgers hopefully able to stay healthy throughout the 2024 campaign.
