All signs are pointing to the notion that for the Green Bay Packers, priority No. 1 in the offseason is locking Jordan Love to a long-term contract. The young quarterback is coming off a tremendous 2023 campaign, and it would be Green Bay’s best interest to extend his deal sooner rather than later.
That’s not the only need the Packers will need to address this summer, though. According to NFL analyst Matt Holder of Bleacher Report, the front office must also pay a lot of attention to their starting offensive line.
Green Bay Packers Urged to Address OL Issue

Holder points out that unlike most of the other teams in the league, the Packers’ situation is quite different. They already have the players they need to complete a formidable offensive line — it’s now just a matter of determining who plays where:
“The Green Bay Packers seem to have five starting offensive linemen, but which positions each player will line up at has been a question during the offseason.
“There were suggestions that Zach Tom would play center this year, which led to some speculation about what the other four starters’ positions will be. The sooner the coaching staff solidifies the starting five, the faster they’ll be able to build continuity with each other and settle into their roles,” Holder wrote.

You could say that this is a good problem to have for the Packers, but it remains to be an issue that needs to be addressed all the same.
Lock Up Jordan Love

While there might still be some doubt as to whether or not Love is the right man to lead the charge for Green Bay as their cornerstone quarterback, the market might just force their hand to act now. Trevor Lawrence got the bag from the Jacksonville Jaguars, and this has to add pressure on he Packers to get a deal done with Love now:
“This might seem a little too soon seeing as Love has only had one full season as a starter. However, he is entering a contract year and the quarterback market has exploded recently, driving up the price tag. At this rate, it would be in the Packers’ best interests to lock down the fourth-year pro before another signal-caller, such as Brock Purdy, gets paid,” Holder suggested.
It doesn’t seem like Green Bay will regret signing Love to a big-money extension. What they could miss out on, however, is getting him to sign a more team-friendly deal if they wait too long.
