The Dallas Cowboys are ready to take on the 2024 NFL season. They are facing a make-or-break year that could change the outlook of the future.
Jerry Jones has decided to keep the core together for one more run. However, if the Cowboys come up short of expectations, there is a very good chance that he will dismantle how the roster and coaching staff currently look.
Among the likely casualties of such changes are head coach Mike McCarthy and quarterback Dak Prescott.
With that being said, the Cowboys are going to need players to step up. They had a relatively quiet offseason and are expecting young players to develop.
One of those young players is tight end Jake Ferguson, who could be in line for a bigger role in 2024 for the Dallas Cowboys.
Dallas Cowboys Tight Ends Jake Ferguson Is Looking For Huge Breakout Season
Speaking out about the upcoming season, Ferguson made it clear that he expects much bigger things from himself in 2024 than he provided in 2023.
“Obviously, I have a high standard for myself. While I think I did some good last year, I think there’s a lot I need to clean up. That’s what I’m trying to do this whole year, just keep getting better every year, keep making that same jump. I made a jump last year, but there’s still a lot that I can fix. This year, just keep doing that, keep cleaning it up and keep trying to be as close to perfection as I can.”
Ferguson is coming off of a productive season with the Cowboys in 2023. He ended up catching 71 passes for 761 yards and five touchdowns.
If he can take his game to another level, the Dallas offense could get much more dangerous.
The Dallas Cowboys will need production from the tight end position. Ferguson will be competing with Luke Schoonmaker for playing time, but Ferguson has the upper hand.
After watching his impressive season last year, there is no question how much potential Ferguson brings to the field. He will be a key part of the offense and will be given every opportunity to have the breakout season he’s targeting.
