The New York Jets are ready for a full season of quarterback Aaron Rodgers and they have bolstered the offense through free agency and the 2024 NFL draft. One of the additions to the wide receiver core was in the third round with the 65th pick they acquired from the Carolina Panthers as they drafted wide receiver Malachi Corley out of Western Kentucky.
The perception of Rodgers throughout his career is that he does not connect with young wide receivers. However, things appear to be changing on that front as Rodgers has offered to let Corley stay in his guest house and the rookie plans to accept the offer. With the connection off the field being made by a rookie wide receiver who could play an impactful piece to the offense, this could do wonders for the chemistry between the two.
What should we be expecting out of Aaron Rodgers and the New York Jets this season?
The New York Jets have really built this team to win in 2024 and have a pretty strong roster when healthy. This offseason, the team finally got a competent backup quarterback in case Rodgers misses action as they signed Tyrod Taylor while also drafting Florida State quarterback Jordan Travis. This team significantly improved the offensive line and added some skill pieces in wide receiver Mike Williams, Malachi Corley and running back Braelon Allen.
While we do not know how well Aaron Rodgers will look a year after tearing his Achilles tendon, he has shown the ability to be incredible above the shoulders. With this improved offensive line with Tyron Smith, John Simpson, Joe Tippmann, Alijah Vera-Tucker and Morgan Moses while having rookie Olu Fashanu as a tackle off the bench, the New York Jets are primed for a great season.
According to DraftKings Sportsbook, the Jets‘ win total is sitting at 9.5 with the over being slightly favored. While we are still waiting for the schedule release to understand how their path will look, there is definitely a lot of excitement going into the 2024 NFL season for Gang Green.
