The Wisconsin Badgers are coming off of a solid but slightly disappointing season. The offseason hype that new head coach Luke Fickell brought did not translate to a team that could compete for the Big Ten. Now, they will have to fill a hole at the linebacker position. Former All-Big Ten honorable mention selection Jordan Turner announced he is entering the transfer portal.
Wisconsin starting linebacker Jordan Turner has entered the transfer portal, @chris_hummer and I have learned for @247Sports.
Turner, a former All-Big Ten honorable mention selection, has posted totals of 129 tackles and five sacks the last two seasons.https://t.co/6Cw7NKmknb pic.twitter.com/gl1PhfwlnI

Wisconsin Badgers Lose Jordan Turner To Transfer Portal
“While I don’t know which school I will play for next season,” Turner said on his social media accounts, “I am excited to see what my future holds.” Turner was the third on the team in tackles this season with 61. This leaves the Badgers very thin at linebacker with Maema Njongmeta seemingly leaving the program as well. Luke Fickell will have to work his magic in the transfer portal again to try and replenish some talent.
Outlook For 2024
Wisconsin has a tough schedule in 2024. In their non-conference schedule, the Alabama Crimson Tide come to town. Then they have to play Big Ten newcomers USC and Oregon. This is on top of games against Penn State and the always-tough Iowa Hawkeyes. They are going to need to play a lot better than they did this year to compete with these teams. The good news is that they have already landed former Miami Hurricanes quarterback Tyler Van Dyke and he should hopefully give the offense a boost.
Can the Wisconsin Badgers get back to being the Big Ten’s elite? It is a tall task but Fickell has proven that he can coach a College Football Playoff team.
