The Chicago Bears have the first overall pick in the 2024 NFL draft and that seems to be the end of quarterback Justin Fields’ time in the Windy City. He has shown the ability to be a solid quarterback throughout his young NFL career but with Caleb Williams likely being the newest quarterback for the Bears, where will the Ohio State product be playing in 2024?
Justin Fields Team #1: Atlanta Falcons
Justin Fields in Atlanta feels like an obvious fit. This screams the Michael Vick experience coming back for a second run as Fields has shown the ability to use his legs while also dominating through the air. With the skill position players like wide receiver Drake London, tight end Kyle Pitts and running back Bijan Robinson, this feels like a great offense that he could slide into.
Atlanta also has the eighth overall selection in the 2024 NFL draft but they could continue to build around the team if they can land Justin Fields. There are more issues than just the quarterback play between Desmond Ridder and Taylor Heinicke during the season that cost them a spot in the playoffs.
Justin Fields Team #2: Pittsburgh Steelers
With the Pittsburgh Steelers officially releasing Mitch Trubisky earlier today, there is the opportunity for Justin Fields to slide in and compete with Kenny Pickett for the starting spot. The Steelers were able to make the AFC Wild Card and now have a new offensive coordinator in former Falcons coach Arthur Smith.
This team has good talent with wide receivers George Pickens and Diontae Johnson to throw the ball to so it would be a strong spot for Fields to join. It will really be a competition and with coach Mike Tomlin leading him, it will be a great option for him to take that next step as an NFL quarterback.
Justin Fields Team #3: New England Patriots
The New England Patriots could trade for Justin Fields as there are some reports that they are not going to be looking at a rookie quarterback with the third overall pick. This team has a lot of weaknesses and openings but getting a quarterback with experience could help them as they could look to move Mac Jones as a result.
Pairing Fields with a receiver like Marvin Harrison Jr., Malik Nabers or tight end Brock Bowers could be fun for first-year coach Jerod Mayo’s scheme. This could help create a culture for Mayo’s team as they build from the ground up.
