Carolina Panthers vs Chicago Bears Betting Odds and Match Details
The Carolina Panthers visit Chicago to take on the Bears in what may possibly be the worst game of the season. Both teams are in the basements of their respective divisions and are fighting with Arizona to see who gets the top pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. With that being said, there are a couple of things we can look at with this matchup.

The Panthers are having a truly awful season. They have both a bottom-five offense and a bottom-five defense. They have one of the worst offensive lines in the NFL, so there has not been much time for rookie QB Bryce Young to operate. Adam Thielen has been their best offensive option this season, and that’s where Carolina will need to look to win this game.
On defense, the already banged-up unit will be without DE Brian Burns on Thursday night. His absence will make a bad defense even worse…especially when getting to the QB.
Chicago Bears
- Points Per Game: 20.9
- Points Allowed Per Game: 26.9

- 4th Down Efficiency: 6-15

Chicago is hoping to have Justin Fields available for this Thursday night against a woeful Carolina Panthers team. Fields was listed as a limited participant for Tuesday’s practice. If able to play, Fields should be able to find plenty of running room…even if he struggles through the air. If he doesn’t go, I would still expect the Bears to lean heavily on their running game with D’Onta Foreman with a sprinkling of Roschon Johnson. They will need to limit Tyson Bagent’s mistakes, and running the ball is the way to do that.
Defensively, the Bears struggle in the secondary, giving up close to 257 yards per game. They have a solid run defense, only allowing 79.7 yards per game on the ground. LBs TJ Edwards and Jack Sanborn are good run-stuffers, while DTs Justin Jones and Andrew Billings control the middle of the line. The new acquisition of Montez Sweat will help put pressure on Panther QB Bryce Young.
Game Prediction
I do not really see a path to victory for Carolina…unless Chicago turns the ball over 3+ times. Carolina has a bad run defense, which matches what the Bears will look to do. Look for Foreman to go close to 100 yards and Fields (if he plays) to have quite a bit of room to maneuver. The Bears at -3.5 and the combined u39 points seem like safe plays.
Bears 20 – Panthers 13
Final Pick
Chicago Bears -3.5, -112 & U39, -110 (DK)
