College Football is less than 65 days away, but pretty soon, College Football 25, the video game, will give us more than enough entertainment to keep us occupied until the start of the actual season. On June 26th, EA Sports released another trailer, this one titled “Sights and Sounds,” that goes into the intricate details of the game that will be seen and heard.
Sights of the Game

ESPN’s color commentator Kirk Herbstreit voiced over the preview and explained, “Every team is somebody’s favorite team…We gave a little love to every school in the game.”
Herbstreit explains that the game conducted extensive research on every team to create as realistic an experience as possible, ranging from pregame pageantries to in-game traditions such as a turnover belt or an iconic celebration. The game even creates unique mascots and crowds that match the style and tradition of each team.
“Every team comes in a unique shape and size…and in College Football 25, you can experience them all.”
The next focus was on the crowd, a huge part of college football. Herbstreit explains that certain situations have been created to allow the crowd to affect the game, such as causing false starts, showing up in a whiteout, or doing chants and hand signals unique to the school.
This is the first game to bring in an immersive crowd that can change a game. Other games have crowds; however, they always seem to be an afterthought that had minimal to no influence on the game.
Sounds of the Game

To address crowd noise, which can cause false starts and affect the game in other ways, EA also released a graphic showing the 25 Toughest Places to Play, with Texas A&M’s Kyle Field ranked the highest. It is unclear what this entails, but it is an extra detail the game has included that will be fun to try out.
Herbstreit shared that he and Chris Fowler spent hundreds of hours covering every possible scenario regarding the game announcement. To show this an example, there is a clip of Fowler announcing, “It’s a pick two to win the game in overtime!” Just to go into how absurd that would be to happen, a game would have to be in overtime and tied when a team decides to go for two following a touchdown. Rather than converting, the play results in a turnover where the other team runs it back for a “pick two.” In hundreds of hours of watching games, I’ve never seen this scenario play out.
This will fix the issue of previous versions of the game and games in general that seem to run the same phrases and announce time after time.
